Steve place second in the unlimited Silver losing by only 3/10 of mph to Matt Jackson. Awesome job Steve!!!
Our T-6G #44 flown by Wayne placed second in the T-6 silver losing by 1/10 of a mph to #5 Big Red.

Well done Steve. Unsure of the results, we toasted your success in Southwold with a few pints of Adnams Broadside. Funnily enough, this photo was taken in Southwold too.....

I've heard that he made the best showing ever by a rookie!

Will he be at Leg ends for the formation dancing? - I certainly hope not for the tail chasing!

Congrats on a mighty effort - Just think you did this on only 80% of the blade thingys up front - how much faster will you be when you find the other one!!

Regards
John P

I thought I read somewhere that somebody won gold their rookie year. Skip Holm and "Jeannie" come to mind. Am I dreaming? Either way, Steve put in a great showing and deserves a big congrats.

I've got to agree on his race, we watched him duke it out and make a last ditch attempt to take first, but it just wasn't in the cards. It was by fat the best race of the weekend. We watched him depart behind Howard Pardue's Bearcat and Sea Fury this morning, headed for home.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. The Sunday Silver race was certainly exciting from my vantage point. Basically I went seven laps looking down into Argonauts cockpit. I was trying to pass Matt at the home pylon and take the checkered, but Matt is too experienced a race pilot to not have a few tricks up his sleeve. After the race I congratulated him on a job well done, and I meant it.

Southern Cross and I are now home after flying half way across the US today, so it's time to say goodnight.

Anyone have some photos of the Sunday Silver race???

Steve
