Are any of the few B-24's that survive today Ford built Liberators?

I remember this airframe being discussed on WIX before. Currently in the collection's storage wing which is a shame.

The B-24 on outdoor display at Barksdale is a Ford, as well as the one formerly at Lackland (now in the RAF Museum.) I think the B-24 on outdoor display in India is also a Willow Run-built machine.

There's also this Ford-built nose section at the Michigan Historical Center in Jackson. It's basically an empty shell, and the chin windows have been restored incorrectly, with the shape of a Consolidated-built aircraft (they're also sheet metal painted black.)

Isn't there one somewhere in the south? Like Alabama or Mississippi? I though I remember reading this in a thread about discussions of the Yankee Air Museum and how if they get the plant they might get a ford built aircraft...

A quick Google shows that the Werribee, Australia one is San Diego-built.

That is the one located at Barksdale - I believe it is the hope that it is donated to the museum.

I am holding out hope that as the old plant is torn down they'll find a secret cache under the floor....

I heard that Barksdale is working on getting their collection under a roof, has anyone else heard that?

I can image the request list for that B-24 is very long, not sure where YAM would fall on it.

The museum has a fuselage section that is Ford built. Our section was a part of the Quest Masters collection. B-24L, Block 20, Serial 44-50022. The scraped section begins at Station 5.1, the rear wing spar bulkhead, to Station 7.1, where the side gun window position begins. Waterline-45 is the approximate location where the section was scrap.
