Certainly a better use of Moxie than drinking it.

I remember a Tracker at Geneseo.
I heard over the radio that the FAA wanted to talk to him about that last pass.
"That was a missed approach" came the reply. 8)

Last I heard he was thinking about writing his memoirs. I really hope he does!

That's neat footage. Did he ever tear any of those aircraft up? Just curious .

Dean once told me, when I was interviewing him for Air & Space, that before he went for a flight in his MiG-21, he'd call the BTV tower and say, "I will be departing to the south at about 1300. I will return at 1345 and enter downwind at 250 knots. I will fly base and initial final at 250 knots. I will NOT accept a wave-off. I WILL be landing out of that approach."

Not much fuel in a -21.

My favorite Dean Martin is story is of the time he decided to drop a couch from the bomb bay of his B-25 into the Green Mountains of VT. Everything went well with the drop until a few days later one of his friends conspired to have someone call Dean's office pretending to be from the FAA!
