After their defeat at Dien Bien Phu, French forces handed over the airfield to the Viet Minh. Gia Lam airfield was thereafter nationalized and used by the VPAF as their main airbase in the Hanoi area."

Did i see a couple of MS 500s in one of the pics

French "Storches", corsairs, bearcats, privateers, boxcars, c-47, lots I can't identify. What a group!

Invaders, Bristol Freighters and Noratlas's (Noratli?? ) also it appears. I did not even know privateers operated from there.
