I was thinking about posting a little note about the EAA WB Sq. 7 x-mas party we had last weekend and had not gotten around to it, things have been busy here.
Last Saturday, 12/10 the EAA WoA Patriot Squadron #7 had its annual Christmas party. The Highlight of the day was a visit and a presentation for our friend and Member Emeritus, David Frawley. Several awards from the Mass. Aero Comission, FAA and the President were given to Dave along with a gift from our squadron. Some great warbird stories were tossed around the room and it was good to see a whole bunch of the "Old New England Warbird Guys" together for the occaision.

Unfortunately I received an E-mail this afternoon informing us of the passing of Mr Frawley last evening.

A well known Pilot Examiner in the Northeast Warbird Community, Dave had given check rides to most of the big rig pilots in our area. I watched Dave the day he was working with Rob Collings in the Avenger. Dave was sitting in a folding chair with a handheld radio saying, "Do it Again"

For those of you who didnt know him just check out the listing I found under "Pilot Examiners"

Mr. David E. Frawley

Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument Rating, Airline Transport
Pilot, Flight Instructor Renewals, Add-on, and Reinstatement only in
single engine land and sea aircraft and in the following multiengine
land and sea aircraft: CV-LB30, BE-55/58, CE-500, DC-3, DC-4,
BE-18, PA-23, PA-31, UC-1, B-17, B-25, CE-400, BE-76, G-TBM,
L-18, CV-PBY-5, BE-95, HS-125, G-111

Our condolences to Dave's family, he will be missed.

Very sad. Thanks for the news.
It's been many years since I had spoke with Dave, but I will miss him.

I am very sad to hear this. Mr. Dave Frawley was truly one of the legends of New England aviation and a real icon in warbirds. I met him in person for the first time two years ago at a QB clam bake and was astounded at his achievements. I consider myself very lucky to have met him in person. I also met John Roach at that meeting as well... he was being honored by the group as well. John was one of the early pilots for the Collings Foundation and was one of the later Tuskegee Airment. We lost John this year too.

I raise my glass to the West and wish him clear skies in his next mission. We'll miss you Dave.
