Watching an amazing documentary on PBS now... "Perilous Fight: America's WWII in Color" http://www.wgbh.org/program-info?program_id=831550&episode_id=831556

It is entirely in color and has some amazing footage... quite moving. One interesting clip was a shot of airborne troop training, having paratroopers jumping out of the DC-5 (the high wing DC-3-like plane).

I'd recommend this if you can find it on your local channel!
