Different airplanes than back then, but prices haven't changed much for a "Primary Trainer".

CAPFlyer...But somehow, a used ancient Cherokee or 150 (with obsolete radios, cracked interior plastic and bad upholstery) doesn't have quite the same appeal as a 3-4 year old Fairchild, Ryan or Boeing.

Still, the $2,400 high range listed in the ad was a lot of money back then.

Also, notice the date...several months before V-J day...and the was was expected to last another year with the invasion of Japan set to take place in the Summer of 46.

I figure if you wanted my opinion on items unrelated to this forum, you'd ask for it.

While in general I'd agree, I'd also make the point that those 3-4 years of military training probably put as many hours and cycles on it as many of those "ancient" 152s and Cherokee 140s.

Personally, I'd rather be in an enclosed, stuffy and/or poorly heated cockpit than in an open, frozen one. (Not really)
