Looking to tap into the vast knowledge base of the forum:
I've come across a single-pointer electric Accelerometer (not the typical 3 pointer, mechanical type), Type B-4, made by Bendix that appears to have been made in 1949, and I'm trying to determine what aircraft may have used it and how it was used.
It only measures positive G's, from 0-9.8G's, and has an indexing triangle that can be rotated around the perimeter by using the knob in the lower left.
It appears to be the same unit installed on the B-47A pilots instrument panel (judging from its 1950 flight manual). I'm sure that 9 G's in a B-47 would have been quite a thrill.
Is anyone familiar with this Accelerometer, and its use in B-47s or any other aircraft? And for what purpose might the indexing pointer be?

Thanks in advance for any help....
