I thought it worth passing along that I'm starting to do some enhancements to my Aero Vintage Books website (https://www.aerovintage.com/). My job situation recently changed...as in I retired after 37 years of working for the FAA mostly doing Flight Check...and I'm devoting more time to bring my website back up to speed. The Aero Vintage website first went on line in 1995...which is ancient for websites and some of it shows. It will slowly be updated.

One of the the things I'm planning is to re-start my monthly B-17 New page (https://www.aerovintage.com/b17news18.htm) last seen in 2018. This proved to be a popular page over the 20 years I put them together....still some good stuff if anyone cares to troll back through the decades. I hope to bring that back beginning in January 2022 so I'm already digging around coming up with some new stuff.

I'm also slowly expanding my Tallmantz Aviation (https://www.aerovintage.com/tallmantz-aviation/) pages...adding content as I put it together. I once thought there was a book there...The History of Paul Mantz, Frank Tallman, and Tallmantz Aviation....but for once I evaluated the actual market for such a book and decided it was just a bit too niche. That book is now slowly coming together in another format...as these Tallmantz pages.

As part of that process I'm still selling books...just two for right now...but looking to put at least three old out-of-print titles back in print digitally. I get regular inquiries about these books...The Douglas A-26 and B -26 Invader, Douglas Havoc and Boston, as well as B-17 In Blue (covering the Navy PB-1Ws and USCG PB-1Gs) so making digital copies available might scratch that itch without costing a fortune.

Finally, I've fine-tuned my product pages and want to see if they work better. As part of that, I want to offer Final Cut just to WIX readers at a discounted $20 (including free shipping) up through Christmas Eve. This book is normally $24.95 so it's not a bad deal and great as a Christmas gift. If you use the coupon code WIX20 in the checkout process, it will discount the book appropriately. This is only for U.S. addresses....and the books will go out via USPS Media Mail so they might not actually get under the tree by Christmas morning. This is an effort on my part to see how the coupons work on my website. It turns out I'm the webmaster too and it's a learning process. Jump to https://www.aerovintage.com/product/final-cut-the-post-war-b-17-flying-fortress-and-survivors-fifth-edition/ and use the coupon code WIX20 if you want to take advantage of the Christmas sale.

Here is the table of contents for Final Cut...the book is packed with 288 pages of information and photos on B-17s in post-war service and contains histories of all the surviving B-17s as well as brief histories on all the civil B-17s whether they are still around or not... This is the Fifth Edition of the book...the first edition was published in 1990 and lots of changes since then. (And, I know, this edition pre-dates the tragic loss of B-17G 44-83575, Nine-O-Nine...so it is still listed)

The best to you on this big milestone, Scott, and enjoy your retirement - looking forward to more updates!
You know, a great post-retirement hobby is gardening - maybe go to Oklahoma City and dig up that B-17F fuselage? :D

Looking forward to it. Glad to have another "ancient" website still around :)
