Mudge, he's Mike O'Leary, a long time aviation photagrapher from California. Some may not agree with some of Mike's way of doing things, see the discussions about the Lancaster at Thunder, etc. I saw Mike and Phil Mckenna Sat at Nellis. Both do good photos. Some folks have asked my plans for next summer. Hopefully I won't have any Spit problems and plan to go to Oshkosh. I'd love to go back to Thunder, if I get invited. With planning there are some things I think I could do better. I was hoping it would be the week after Osh, but now I read that it is 2 weeks early. I am actually looking for some shows next Spring as our airportr will be closed 6 weeks to make the runway safe for G5s.

I was trying to send the previous as a PM to answer Muge's question and it got on as a new topic. Good thing there aren't any computer skills required to fly a Spitfire! I'm still at the airport, weather east is poor and this computer is free, so I have lot's of time to waste, er, er spend online. Anybody got any more quetions about Nellis? etc?

Bill
The week after Thunder is the 1941 HAG show at Geneseo, NY, Nice grass strip and a good time for all. A really good WIX turn out from Canada and East Coast US. Generally a bit of a British theme goes on every year there also. A few Spits, I hope now a few Hurricanes...

Unlike 99% of airshows in the USA and world for that matter.

True enough Tim, Geneseo is a one of a kind
- Great people
- Lots of show line to view the displays ( no fighting for position with vendors and sponsors taking up the good viewing spots )
- Good selection of Warbird aircraft.

A show that will not be missed by myself.

Tim, thanks for the info. The problem with Gen is that it is so far away and I think weather is often a problem. Jeff Ethel alwys invited me and bragged on the show. If they were interested enough to pay a good fee I'd consider it. Until I flew in Canada it I didn't realize how easy it is and what nice scenery and airports. Of course it could be Karastan, and flying a Spitfire would be fun.

Maybe the WIX'ers could help Geneseo out with a little "Spit Sponsorship"?
It can get you close to the action!
