Hi, I have in my private collection a bomb rack. Is this bomb rack perhaps from a RAF Lancaster or a Halifax or a Spitfire or another type of aircraft ?. See on the following link some pictures of my bomb rack.

Seeadler are there any serial numbers anywhere on the rack? that might help in narrowing down. Also dimension will help. thanks

Way too big for spit and you can see the electrical female plug on it that connects with the male plug at each bombstation in the raf heavy bombers.

There are a lot of code-markings on the Bomb Rack :

for example : a little circle with the stamp in it " A W M 18 "

further the following codes :

G11L522
G11L5223ATS1
G11L52171SB
G11 5171 A
BG L/3079

I hope somebody know this numbers and can tell me if this Bomb Rack was used for the RAF Lancaster or anohter Bombertype ???......

this is not a standard WW2 British bomb rack, yet it is British. Suspect it is of 1930s application, perhaps for a specific aircraft. Notice how rack is curved at front suggesting underwing.

Yes it is possible that this Bomb Rack is used for under the wing. On both ends of my Bomb Rack there is soft material, perhaps to beware the wing for damage.

But now I have still the question : which RAF aircraft has used this Bomb Rack .... ?
