Beale AFB Museum

At one time there was a museum at Beale AFB, I believe it closed a few years back. I've been told that the B-17 from there went to March AFB, and that there were also examples of C-47, KC-97, B-57, A-26, BT-13, AT-11, B-25 U-2 and an L-5 there in the 1990s.

Does anyone know what happened to these airframes?

I believe that only an SR-71 and D-21 drone remain, at least that was all that I saw there at the Open House back in June.

The was a B-29 nose section as well...now derelict at the New England Air Museum...

The TB-25N, 43-28222, ex N5256V came to Hurlburt Field, Fl. Where is was placed on display. Here is a photo of it taken last week.

The KC-97L, 53-0230 went to Dover AFB, DE. It was placed on display at the Air Mobility Command Museum.

Seems like a silly question. But how did they move them? Disassemble them and truck them or fly them?

Most aircraft are moved by truck, exception was the B-36 moved from Chanute AFB, IL to Cassle AFB, CA. It was moved on 14 railcars. Click below to see a site on the outfit that does most of the moving.

Tidying up a couple more departures:

EB-57B 52-1526 left for Topeka/Forbes Field KS in Aug05.
AT-11 41-9525 went to Jackson Barracks in New Orleans.
