This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Attention!
Is your B-17 suffering from corrosion or cracks in the
carry through spars? Are you rebuilding bulkheads 4 or 5?
Are you stuck taking round X4130 tubes and machining them
square?
Well, I have the answer for you!
My colleagues and I have found a major mill that
will produce brand new carry through spars
in a quantity smaller than a 5000 piece run,
all in the name of keeping B-17 flying for another
50 years. I feel that this will be a one time opportunity,
so contact me by PM for details.
Remember that Murphy lurks. When you need them,
they won't be available!

Have contacted the B-17 Co-Op?
THis sounds like an ideal job for them.

50 years ! Don't you know that by then, any surviving B-17s will be fitted with antigravity devices and the wings and engines will simply be for looks ?
Don't you even READ Popular Science ?
It is good news though for those folks who would want to rely on the old ways.

We were there, but this just happened on Friday.
I wanted to get the word out ASAP, as we don't
want to waste this opportunity.
And about the anti-gravity devices - I'm making
calls about them early next year.
Oh yeah - Anyone thinking about a B-17 project?
If you have some $$$ to start, I think we may
have something to talk to you about.
