P-39 Airacobra HELP NEEDED!!

Fri Dec 29, 2006 2:52 am

G'day all.
its been a while since I was here so I hope this message finds everyone in good health. I hope we have all had a nice Festive season and that the New Year is a good one for all. Now to my topic.

I need help regarding research i am doing on my P-39. I have successfully identified its history all the way back to the Bell Factory, with pictures etc from each phase of its life including its demise and subsequent recovery.

My desire now is to locate somebody, a historical group or a museum in the US who has enough technical knowledge about the Bell P-39 Airacobra. I need to confirm some results I have regarding my airframe.
The question of it being an earlier model than a P-39D has been raised previously but I seriously need to correspond with some technical people.
I especially need to discover information about NACA and evaluation tests that Bell did with NACA on the P-39. I have all the good Bell P-39 reference materials including construction repairs, maintenance schedules etc, but I need more specific data relating to Bell evaluation codes.

your help appreciated.

All the NACA reports should be available. PM me after the first of the year and I'll see what I can come up with.
