Here is one cool fighter, actually a very cold one.

These were taken at the Aspen Airport, after some fresh snow fell in early December.

No kidding! We could use some of that while stuff here in the North East. its downright balmy in Southern Ontario and my skiis are starting to wonder if they've been forgotten or not

Spooky, yes there is only 1 large hangar here, and it is $300 nightl, so mostly diesel burners in there. There are some sort of carports for about $63k for a 20 year lease. I could try eslwhere, CAF offered, but I prefer to have my plane with me. Great place to live, but aviation wise it is not BKD or OSH.

We got enough of our own snow. But I know you guys got a lot more of it up in the mountains.


Do you ever fly your Spit down to Greeley or Ft. Collins/Loveland area?

Bill,

What kind of performance do you actually see with your Spit?
How much manifold pressure do you pull, whats stall speed, cruise, fastest you've had it straight and level, rate of climb, highest altitude flown, fuel burn, etc.. I know it's alot of questions.

Does keeping that peice of history out side 24/7 hurt it? and is their any special treatment to the Merlin for the off season? I know for my vintage Chevy's I go through abit of prep on the motor for the winter months. Can't imagine the work involved in doing a Merlin.
