B-17 documentary

Wed Jan 10, 2007 5:03 pm

Watched a B-17 documentary on PBS last nite. Thought it was quite well done. Absolutely HATED the part where they showed the thousands of B-17s rotting away at Davis-Monthan.
Lump in the throat kind of hate. :(
Seemed like it was a "save the B-17s for future generations" kinda' thing. Whether it was or not, I hope a few people got the same message.

Mudge the lumpy

I believe the name of it was B17:Flying Legend. It has some good footage of Fuddy Duddy, Memphis Belle, and Yankee lady at what appears to be one of the NWM airshows a few years back(back when it was a real warbird musuem. I bought a copy a few years ago for the interviews with the veterans and think it was money well spent. The web page is http://www.b17flyinglegend.com/
