will there be any new aces in the 21st century???

duke cunningham (please no comment on duke's jail time, it sickens me as it is, let's remember him as an ace... thanks) & steve ritchie.... the last 2 u.s. aces since vietnam. will there be any 21st century aces??? i'd say no. why?? most countries with nominal air forces are 1, on our side & 2 our enemies are mostly ground bound terrorists without a country. the only hostile exceptions being north korea & iran. neither have the talent or technology, & iran doesn't have much of the iron other than our old f-14's, if there even still flying. if there are any 21st century aces i'd say that my bet goes with israel but they are basically in the same scenario as us yanks.

If we ever go to war with China or North Korea, there will likely be aerial aces.

Of course, there will probably be some Chinese aces, too...

Ace in shooting down F-4 Phantom drones. :P

Don't under estimate Iran.

All it will take is a nation with an airforce and that has the will to have a go at all costs, to try and strike US assets in theater.

If that is the case then there will be aces.

In Gulf War 1 that wasn't the case. They had a substantial airforce but no will to fight, just preserve the aircraft by fleeing.

Now if they wanted to make a dash for US assets in Saudi at all costs.....?
