Somewhere in France, but in 1988 ;)

I think the Bearcat's first pass was the best.

Now THATS an airshow. Grass runway, close to the aircraft and LOW LOW flybys!!!

Nice, an old La Ferté video.

First one is Ray Hannah with his P-51D...

And the commentator is a total fool. When the P-51 is taking off, he says that it's a no-no to apply brakes before retracting the u/c, because if you do so the brakes will jam and on landing, you will put the pretty aircraft on its snout.

Total bollocks...

Wow, quite the treat to see that video. Thank you!

I wish I could have been there in person, but the video will have to do considering I don't think they're allowed to have airshows with planes that close to the crowds.

Cheers,

David

P.S. That's the kind of air show I want to put on in Vancouver, BC (Boundary Bay Airport).

great footage. loved the bearcat & the spad. from the dead of winter in ohio just the sounds of those rounds was fabulous!!! question.... what is the ball park life insurance price for warbird operators?? as an ex smoker i pay enough, but i can't imagine what a warbird pilot pays. my ex brother in law used to drag race, & he never told his insurance company because of the $$$ screw.

I love Canada. I sure miss the good old days of Camp Seabee!

It's to bad you can't have an airshow like that here in the over regulated "land of the free".

Mike

Trey,

Thanks for that.

Truly great selection of pilots & aircraft and of course superb flying from times when things were a bit more relaxed & sensible.

Ah, them were the days! :D

Cheers
