Condemned Crash

Can anyone tell me the meaning of Condemned Crash. My uncle was killed on 9 Dec 1944 in B-17, 42-102925. Under that AC it says condemned crash. Thanks

this means that the aircraft was taken from charge / inventory due to a crash.... we find this wording quite often in IAR's - sometimes only 'condemned'.... this usually is the last entry, and was used also for aircraft being salvaged, surplused (excess inventory) or lost in combat.

My thoughts were that perhaps this Fortress crashed while departing from or returning to the Airfield, or crashed in the vacinity. And was determined too damaged to be repaired and thus broken up to be salvaged.

this aircraft under the command of Irvin J. Wentz, attached to the 347th BS 99th BG 15th AAF, crashed at Sal Sola, Italy after takeoff on 9 Dec 1944. the a/c was destroyed - it had completed 57 missions.
