Jack,

Bluenosers, now you’re talking!

Heard a couple good stories about Lt. Cy Doleac’s aircraft, shown above,
named EX-LAX…Shht’n’Git!

First one is that during the war the company actually displayed a photo
of Doleac’s aircraft at their headquarters.

The other story involves the aircraft of Lt. William Whisner. Seems
Whisner was assigned a new Mustang and it was “suggested” he name
this a/c Princess Elizabeth. Her ladyship was to visit Bodney and
christen the aircraft herself. Moments before the Princess was due to
arrive it was noticed Doleac’s Mustang with Shht’n’git painted on its
nose was parked right next to Whisner’s new aircraft. The ground crew
just got Doleac’s Mustang out of sight as the Princess showed up.

Thanks Jack, always enjoy seeing photos of the 352nd FG.

Bluenosed Bastards of Bodney

My grandfather was assigned to the 352nd as support staff. He told me stories of flying in a B-24 when they moved to Belgum. He said because he was the ranking NCO, he took the "window seat" at one of the waist gunner windows for the flight.

Very nice again Jack! :D
Those first two photo's don't look very old at all, could have been made yesterday!

My third grade teacher, Mrs. Manny's dad was Ken Williams. He flew in the shuttle mission to Russia. I was surprised one day I was looking threw a Air Classic's mag and found a picture of Ken Williams after a mission in his P-51. I took the picture out of the mag and got it resized and gave it to him. He thought it was a really nice thing to do. Sadly, he has since passed. He was the principal for the Wyalusing Vally High School here in Pennsylvania.

Thought maybe you might find that interesting.

Cheers,
Nathan
