An interior shot of the B-29 at the NEAM. Looks like they are doing an awesome job with this plane.

Dang, that's awesome! I wonder if any of those folks would be kind enough to come down here to Midland to do that kind of makeover to FIFI?

It's a little easier to "restore" an airplane like NEAM's B-29 when you have money, volunteers, some spares, AND it's not gong to be an airworthy restoration! They got the backing ($) from the 58th Bombardment Wing and their entire archives are now part of NEAM's collection.
She's beautiful, but forever ground bound.

As I see nothing wrong with a static aircraft restoration, I have to say that she is a beauty.

Some need to be ground bound!
I could not believe how far they have come with it last time I saw it. I remember seeming it in the early 90's, I had a film camera and I think I decided not to "waste" a picture on it.

Waste what the Heck was I thinking!

THey have done one heck of a job. I am going out there soon, so I will be seeing it in person. I can't wait.

When? A few of us might be able to hook up and make a time of it. Any excuse to get together works for us!
