Now this is go ing back a few years, but a friend of mine that went ot PIA(Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics) in the 1950's said that there used to be a complete B-24J in front of the building. Has any one ever heard of this?

I grew up in Pittsburgh, went to PIA and based planes at AGC. Never heard any rumors about a B-24. There was a P-38 that crashed on final during the war I believe and the postwar B-25 in the Mon.

Any of you guys have contacts at the P.I.A. ?
I have a WW2 target drone in full original condition and complete.
It has a 2 cyl engine with contra rotating props.
It has the PIA crest on it .
I am looking to sell it maybe they would be interested?
If you know anyone , please pass this info to them

In 1956 a TB-25N ditched into the Monongahela River near Pittsburgh. There is mystery surrounding the aircraft partially because the aircraft was never found. Lots of stories from UFOs to nukes have been told over the years. I spent a lot of time around Pittsburgh as a kid and being that I have had involvement with B-25s my whole life I have heard the story 100 times, a different every time from one or another of my relatives who live in the area.
The only aircraft sitting out in front of things that I have seen or heard of around Pittsburgh is an F-86D in front of a VFW and the B-25J "How 'Boot That" in front of the cometary.

mustangdriver, got a FAVOR, can you go over to the PIA complex and get a name of a teacher and his e mail and find some info on a project that there about to start...............I got wind that there is a N3N that there about to tear apart and rebuild and they have no manuals or info for it..........................I would like to see that they dont screw it up ( I went to A&P school and I have seen what can happen). I have called and called there Admin and never have gotten any replies ( might not be getting to the right department)
