Heritage Flight Conference

Wed Feb 28, 2007 2:03 pm

With the Heritage Flight annual conference going on this coming weekend I was just wondering if anyone around Tucson has seen any warbird activity yet???

Wed Feb 28, 2007 2:27 pm

Lonestar's Jug is supposed to be here in Midland in an hour or so. Gumby is going to stay the night here since the winds in El Paso are supposed to be somewhere around 60 mph tonight. I reckon he'll just head on to Tucson tomorrow morning from here.

If any of y'all want pictures, I suppose I could post some......although I'm sure you've all seen their Thunderbolt before.

P-47 is on his way! Visablility has been pretty rough in the Houston area since early this morning. Take a pic once he gets there Gary! Tell him his "son" said HELLO!

Here's Gumby arriving in Midland earlier today......

And naturally, Mosquito had to give the airplane a cat-scan (with Gumby's permission, of course)...........

I love the pictures, the P-47 is so beautiful, and the "cat scan" - brilliant!

You guys need to take a "Cat Count" before Gumby takes off tomorrow....
She, if she is a she, too fuzzy to tell in the tail wheel inspection shot, looks like she does a pretty thorough post flight..great pics and thanks.

So far today:
4 Mustangs (Don't know which ones, I wasn't trying for IDs)
2 F-22s
2 F-15s
1 F-4 This one may just have been one of the drones doing a test flight.

I do love being so close to the end of the runway.

Cool! Thanks for the update Gary! Did you get a cat count before departure? Im sure New Mexico doesnt need any cats parachuting down!

Thanks a lot Gary!
I was taking my break at my desk and just took a big drink of Dew when I
saw your cat climbing up the tail wheel strut and proceeded to blew it all over my keyboard. :?
100% hilarious  :!:

A friend visting Ca called me today from Planes of Fame to report that Steve H was taking off in the P38 for the conference as well as his brother in the P51.

Gary- thanks for the pics of Gumby and Hal starting up. I think the thing I miss the most these days after the LSFM B17 is hearing the P47 starting

Assuming that the two raptors were flown in by Max and Dozer? Anyone know?
