That's a gem of a commerical.

Obiviously the aboard footage is "Lady Lex". But anyone have a guess as to the underway shot? It could also be "Lady Lex" but prior to her 1991 Decomissioning.

Strange as it is this footage looks very very similar to the Corsair crash in the IMAX film Flyers.

Anybody else got any information?

Ummm...does the Evergreen Museum know their Corsair crashed on a carrier deck for this ad? LOL!

Actually very creative...admirably done (despite it being for cigarettes) and that nurse could attend to me ANY time....

I was involved with the filming of this commercial. It was an almost 2 week long shoot on the Lexington. I was part of the team that built all of the models for the commercial and coordinated the aircraft. The flying Corsair is as mentioned the Evergreen machine flown by Bill Muszala. There were 4 models involved in the filming. 1 full sized fiberglass Corsair that was built onto a trolley for the skid scene. There were 2 1/6 scale model Corsairs for the tipping off of the carrier scene. There was a full sized "top half" of a Corsair built for the floating in the water scene.

I believe that the Lexington Museum still has all of the models or at least we gave them to them when we left.
