Gauge question.

Sat Mar 31, 2007 9:42 pm

I was just in a flea market and came across an oil gauge. It was of a type that I would associate with an aircraft; black with a thick plate held on by four screws. The graduations being in pounds and from "0" to "100" +.

On the back was a data plate that said it was made by the National Engraving company. The tag said "model A?".

Now; I'm an a/c mechanic and an auto mechanic. I have never seen anthing like that on a car. However; I am faaaaar from an expert in the old time cars.

Anyone have an idea? Tom you out there?

Joe

Hi,

If it looks like aircraft I'm sure the model A is a mfg code or type number, not for a automobile. A ford model A oil pressure gage is round with a clamp on the rear that holds it in the panel not screws
