Cool pics Jack

. One can only imagine the amount of man power and hours those ground crews put in just to keep a single bomber in the air.

Anybody know how many support crew it took to keep a B-24 or B-17 in the air?

Generally there was a crew chief and two or three assistants to do the normal servicing and minor repairs. Anything more and you could call on the support of a whole squadron of maintainers.
