Need help

Mon Apr 09, 2007 8:35 am

Can anyone tell what it says on the nose of this P-39? Maybe Jack Cook can help. It's a 12 FS P-39. Also I am looking for a good picture of that badge on the door. Thanks, Nathan

Hi Bill,

You are correct. I also just found it. I found out some more information reguarding the 12 FS. The 12 FS left the states with P-39's to operate training missions on Christmas Island. The squadron was added to the 18 FG and moved to Guadalcanal in 1943. The 12 FS participated in the distruction of Adm. Yamamoto's Betty bomber.

Could the nose say Isan Shebads or San Shebeds/Shebads? It said the 12 FS adorned there P-39's with female names.
