The passing of legendary WW II IJN vet Zenji Abe

Thu Apr 12, 2007 7:48 pm

Hello,

For those who have not seen it yet - we lost a great veteran Lt. Cdr. Zenji Abe last week. He was one of the most experienced IJN carrier vets that survived the war from Pearl Harbor until 1945. A good man as well.

Ron,

I know Abe-san's passing is doubly sad for you since you were looking forward to presenting him with a copy of your work. Just remember that the mortality of man was one of the very reasons you didn't wait to begin interviewing the surviving Kaigun veterans.

As was succinctly stated at j-aircraft: Historians...Do it now!
