What can we do to help Jack Cook?

Fri Apr 13, 2007 6:23 pm

I was saddened to read of the tragedy and the first thing that came to mind is what can we do for him? I have made an offer and with the OK of Scott will be happy to proceed with. Is there other things that we can do? Can some of the guys offer rides for his benefit?

I just hate seeing a good guy have something like this happen to them.

Lets ROLL!

If you guys are able to get an address, a bank account or something similar, in order to help Jack, please let me know via PM. I would not post a bank account number in an open forum though.

Jack, my prayers are with you.

Saludos,

Tulio

Jack's a good guy, and was very generous with his time posting and sharing his collection of photos. I would like to send a small cash donation, his family will have a lot of immediate needs.
Maybe somehow, all of the photos he has posted can be put on a CD or DVD (yes I know they're low resolution) but it will help a little. Whatever is appropriate, count me in.

Same here. Just give me a shout. I love the idea of selling rides for his family. I think that could go over big.

I've got some fantastic data recovery software. If the hard drives from any computers can be found, I'll be happy to try and salvage any data I can.

(It's not as farfetched as it sounds...it's the same stuff they used to recovery data form the Challenger's hard drives)

Jiggers started a auction for Jack on the other Jack Cook post. If we all can pitch in $25.00 each and send it to Scott on this post, if that's ok with him and he then can pass it on to Jack. I just sent in my payment after being bent over the elevator by the IRS for this years tax, but thats nothing compared to losing your home, pets and treasures to a fire, wow. Best of luck to you buddy...

Let me know Scott and I'll start it with my $25.00......

I would be in for this as well.

Look, Jack has an email address. Paypal sends money to any email address. Let's try that unless we come up with a bank account to wire $$ to.

Other ideas?

Scott

Leading Bid

Lynn Allen has generously offered $ 300.00 and that is the lead bid. Are there any others?

Does anyone have any other artifacts , books pictures , parts memorabilia etc, that they would be willing to offer for bid?

I plan on paypalling something.

I think Jack mentioned to me at one point that alot of his images were on Photobucket, so he should still have all those. A small consolation for all the real photographs lost.

I feel just horrible for them.

I have an A2 I bought which turned out to be too small for my Orangutan arms. I will post some images later today and offer that to the cause to the highest bidder. Scott, you'll have to set a time table for any auction items, eh?
