Cool shot of Betty Joe at the Airshow

Very nice photos. Think the CAF has an F-82 that they are currently restoring back to flying condition. Their restoration team sometimes comes over to our museum in Dayton to look at Betty Jo up close to get measurements, see how some parts are installed and how its suppose to look, etc.

Hmmm, that's probably the restoration team from the F-82 in Minnesota. The CAF P-82 has been dormant for a little while now. :?

Is the one in Minnesota the ex-Soplata one I take it? Does it have a web site?

Wasn't Tom Cruise going to sponsor the resto on the CAF Twin?

I imagine it was the same one that was at Gillespie field a few years back.

P-82

Yes, to both questions..... Tom is still on board to sponsor the Twin, IF, the CAF retains ownership. I hope we do..... 'cause it's restoration will certainly be completed to a very high standard...... Alan
A few shots from last year......

IMHO, I think the "B" model just looks right!

Just a thought

How much of the F-82 will interchange with a P-51D

I don't know about the Twin Mustang, but there is another little project in the CAF that it's looking like I'll get to tinker with a bit.

Sadly, no. This one is a flyer (well...not for a little while now), but is fairly popular in the CAF fleet. It's nothing ground breaking, just more work.

T E A S E!

Actually Gary, what you are doing (or about to do) is something that I wish the CAF had started a long time ago....... A hired gun within the CAF that could go out on occassion and either complete or jump start a restoration....... Kudos to Mr Austin....
