B-17 "Memphis Belle" at Willow Grove NAS JRB, PA

Tue May 08, 2007 9:17 am

Drove by the base the other day and noticed sitting on the Navy ramp is Talichet's B-17. It's hard to see, you have about a 1.5 second glimpse through the fence and buildings from the road, but it's definitley there. Been there for a few days now. Just wondering what it's doing...thinking maybe they are taking it to the McGuire AFB show this weekend....but....anyone know anything?

It was. They got a waiver to keep it there in between the langley show the weekend before and mcguire, this past weekend. took off friday about 530 pm, i heard on my scanner the tower giving an aircraft some directions and said "past the b-17 on runway 33". boy did that sound funny!
