Having grown up (some might question that thought) in the area, it will be nice to see what Johnsville looks today.

Bump.

I just found some photos of test pilots from Brewster. I will upload them in a few days after I get a new scanner.

By the way Johnsville was never a Naval Air Station . It was first known as the Naval Air Modification Unit. Then it became ADC Etc.

I love the first 1943 photo with the guy standing in the aisleway with his 'Brewster Gloves' on and the 'DOOH! Busted' look on his face. The modern equivelent are the more modern 'Boeing Gloves'

Question about the F3A Corsairs...Were any ever built by Brewster with the Birdcage canopy?

Didn't Brewster take the 1D licence with Goodyear at the same time? I seem to recall a lot of marketing materials of the period were BVG (Brewster Vought Goodyear)

Yes, they did Jerry, but just a few... like Goodyear. I have a photo of one somewhere, but it will be quite a trial to find it unfortunately.

Cheers,
Richard
