Rumor #2: The remaining B-17 parts cache owned by Tom Reilly, consisting primarily of the remains of SB-17G 44-83722 and B-17G 44-85813 (N6694C) has been sold to a Canadian group for the basis for a long term restoration project.

This one has my attention. Anyone have any idea where this group may be? I certainly have not heard.

B-17 Parts for sale...

Sat Sep 18, 2004 10:53 am

I just got around to reading my copy of Trade-A-Plane from the EAA Convention(OK, I've been busy! ). Did anyone catch the ad in the Warbirds section on the B-17 Parts??

B-17 PARTS, 100 thousand lbs., sale at $2.50-lb. To be sold as a lot only. parts located at Red Deer, Alta, Canada. (867) 874-3333, (867) 873-6112, Fax (867) 874-3572. http://www.buffaloairways.com

So we'd be talking $2.5M for the whole lot, right?

Anybody know what's actually for sale?

Hi Mark

I think your maths is even worse than mine mate 100,000Lb X $2.5 =$250,000.00 not $2.5Mill or am I a little slow today - sounds cheap though - depends what you get.

30-36,000 pounds, depending on model.

well, if it were all the required parts then ought to be enough weight there for 3 of them almost.

I doubt it somehow. :(
