Nathan (and Bill)--
Aw geez, what do I do now. There's a big dent in my ceiling...

Just last evening I was bemoaning never having seen TE308, now it looks like I might be in with a chance!
Cheers (three of 'em!)

Well that's certainly exciting news!
Time to start praying to the weather gods for a nice weekend. Should probably also pray to keep some of those mechanical gremlins away from those Spitfires that are planning to attend.

Bill, I'm looking forward to meeting you and seeing another Spit at Gennie. I think that will make 3 Spits? And 2 Hurri's!
BTW, FYI I am under 185 lbs!!!

Or just wear a hippy style haircut! That makes people seem skinnier!

What a great addition to the line up at Geneseo. It was great meeting Bill at Thunder last year but he flew Russell’s Spit and I was disappointed to not see TE308. I vaguely remember seeing TE308 in the early 70s when owned by Don Plumb and look forward to seeing it again.
Cheers,
Eric

Guys, I got invited, or to be exact got them to invite me. However there is still a long ways and a lot of miles, weather, and time to cross to actually get there. Of all the shows the pilots say this one is one of if not THE best. I thought the one at Galveston was pretty good, but they don't have jet noise at Gen. I have a big debt of gratitude to the Russell Group for letting me fly their Spitfire last summer when mine was down. Believe it or not, I am not short of calorie challenged volunteer riders for free(may be less now if they saw my landing at Bryan!). When I was out Fri morn at LSFM washing the plane, volounteers were pretty scarce. When it comes time to pay the bills they are as rare as Jimmy Hoffa.

Eric 's photos on this site are very interesting. They are of TE308 when Don Plumb owned it in Windsor, in the shiny paint scheme. You can see both versions, the factory 2 seat style and the single seat mod to the 2 seater where they coveered up the rear cockpit with a fairing and it is evident that the front cockpit is farther forward than in a factory single seater.
