I was at my moms cleaning the grill. I heard what I thought was a truck driving by. But when the sound got closer I told my self man those are radials. I stepped back, looked up and there was B-17 Memphis belle and HAG's C-45 flying together heading back to Geneseo. I yeld at my mom,"mom, mom, OMG it's a B-17". The one I worked on I told her.
What a thrill I almost cried!
So, the other night it was Geneseo's C-45 that I saw flying.
I am pumped!
Cheer,
Nathan

I know exactly how you feel. Back in 1972 a couple of days before the airshow at Greater Southwest Airport in Arlington, TX, the entire Tora Tora Tora flight flew over our house. I was outside playing with my friends and could hear those radials coming. When I looked up and found them I was just awe-struck. It was cool actually going to the airshow that weekend and getting to seem them upclose after seeing them fly over my house.

When I was 10 or 11 the Tora gang flew over my house then did an overhead break as if they were going to bomb the airport. My dad and I drove out to the airport to see them. That was the only time I ever saw them. They were staying over night as they were headed to Nebraska for a show and needed fuel.

Sitting in my 6th grade classroom back in 72 I saw several CAF planes turning toward Wright-Patterson AFB. B-17 surrounded by smaller types, with a three-ship formation of twins out in front.
Though I could only ID the B-17 and P-38, it has always been a great memory for me.

Sounds a lot like when I was young and the Four Horsemen P-51 aerobatic team decided to do their practice routine over my farm before an airshow. Our place was a good 25 miles from the show, but had some really great ground reference landmarks... so I guess they thought it was just as good as anything.
Nothing like sitting on top of a grain silo with four merlins staring at you from 12 o'clock!
