and what's goin' on with the canvas straps? And with the fabric just forward of and below the canopy...The right aileron is missing???

I'd have to agree with that. There are also inspection panels missing from the bottom wing and the gear is obviously just for ground handling purposes, it's not retractable and lacks any form of shock-absorbing.
