PT-19 L-440 Ranger Engines on eBay

Wed May 16, 2007 4:56 pm

This is interesting auction (no affiliation with the seller, I just thought it was cool!):

You are bidding on a PAIR (2) of ORIGINAL 1940s manufactured Single Over Head Cam Ranger Aircraft Engines as where used in the WW2 PT-19 Warbirds. These Six Cylinder engines where used in many Hot Rods, Sprint and Dry Lakes Race Cars after WW2. Both engines seam to be complete with 2 Magnetos each. There are also several other parts included which can be seen in the pictures. But most likely the Intakes etc. are not going to be used on a Racing Engine. There should be way more parts then you need to build one good engine. Some of the most famous Cars built with these Ranger engines where Art Arfons Green Monster drag Cars and Jot Horn's 1952 Bell Auto Parts 27 Ford Roadster. I have included a few pics of what the Roadster used to look like. But off course this Roadster is not included in this auction. This auction is for Two (2) Ranger six cylinder Aircraft engines and parts only. Don't miss this auction if you ever thought about building a different kind of car or would just like to have a couple display engines in your private Museum or Collection. I am negotiable on the "Buy it Now" price, just could not figure out how to add the "Make an Offer" option. Good luck bidding.
