A little Spitfire action

I did say little as in a Mk.26 80% replica. The aircraft flies out of Oshawa Ontario and is currently listed for sale in Trade A Plane.













It will be a few more weeks before I get to see a full-size Spit.

There were two scratch built Spitfire replicas built at a local grass strip airport called Delta Air Park near Vancouver. They were absolutely incredible replicas.

I wish I had pictures of them. They were both in the 80% size range. One used a Subaru engine (I think) and the other had a Buick. They were so incredibly exact it was amazing. The only give away with them both was that the pilots head didn't seem in the same scale as the rest of the plane.

That spit there looks pretty good too. What does it use for its engine? A LOM?

I am at Ft Worth Meacham airport this afternoon, having flown up from Waco McGregor. I just went down to the south end to the museum, Vintage Flying, the door is shut with a sign that you need an appointment during the week. Just looking in the hangar door there is someone working on a Ryan? You can see the B-17 with engines uncowled and 3 twin Beeches, D18s, I think. oUstide in the field are some Vietnam era jets etc, lookiing a bit forlorn. I parked at Atlantic, but am at a very fancy FBO, Texas Jet, nicely equipped. This went on the wrong site, but I'll leave it here.
