Australian Phantom F-4Es query

Mon Jun 04, 2007 6:02 am

Anyone know of any ex RAAF F-4E aircrew? I am interested in gettng in touch with anyone who either flew or maintained the F-4Es at RAAF Amberely in 1970-73.

I own a few rare b/w and colour F-4E photos .. maybe biggest in Australia not sure....

Thanks

that was the $1 donated F-4E sent to RAAF Museum Point Cook in 1980s.
It was not a real true F-4E as it had Slats....

Rumour is that the ship was a actually mig killer underneath? before a repaint in RAAF colours...i cant recall there seems to be some doubt of the F-4s real serial number .. im yet to see this F-4 at museum but am hoping to this year.

Hi Guys -

The F-4E marked as "97208" and on display at the RAAF Museum is 67-0237 and is not a MiG killer or ex-RAAF aircraft.

Thanks to friend Bill Peak for this info - he has an excellent reference book on the Phantom - take a look at:
