Aircraft at Reading PA Airport

Mon Jun 04, 2007 6:10 pm

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone had any information on the seemingly derelict aircraft at the Reading Airport. I saw them there last year, and again this year while at the WWII Weekend. Are they part of the museum's collection? The museum's R4D was sitting with them, looking pretty sad itself, but there was also a Viscount, possibly a Flying Boxcar and something in the Thunderstreak family. Just wondering if anyone had some info or better ID's as I saw them from a distance.

Greg,
Yes, those aircraft do belong to the museum. The Viscount, R4D, C-119 and the F-84 are moved off the museum ramp to make room for the visitors, visiting aircraft and to keep to theme. My father is a member of the museum and numerous visits to the field and website are my sources.

The Martin 404 also is moved to the other side of the field to make room for the airshow.
