Mustangdriver's OSH pics

Mon Jul 30, 2007 12:20 pm

I had a great trip, other than the fact that I had to take one of my friends to the Emergency Room, and he is still there, so in a few days I am going back to Oshkosh from Pittsburgh to get him! I might sneak in the museum! Ha Ha. I had a blast this year, and a large part of it was due to this place. The WIX Gathering was awsome, and I met some new friends. Had a great day meeting Bill, Barry, Paul, Kevin, Django, Gary, Pirate, Sabremech, and all of the rest of you guys. Thanks also to those who pointed me in the right direction about taking pictures. I think I got some cool shots. These are just a few, as I took 430 pics! Enjoy, and see you all next year!

Great pics 8) ...thanks for sharing them!

The family and I were also able to meet Paul while he was working on his T-33. It was great talking with him and he was even nice enough to let my two boys and I hop up and check out the cockpit. Thanks again Paul!

Great meeting Bear, Mustangdriver, Gary Austin, Jason, Dan, Bill Greenwood, John Peters & family. Sorry I missed the Thursday night WIX gathering. John, did you ever find the ball turret display in the FLYING magazine tent?

Hey Paul!

No I never did. But I guess it didn't matter anyway since I've already seen that particular ball turret up close and personal. When I was visiting Zack at the timeless voices tent I asked him about it and he confirmed that it was in fact the EAA museum's ball turret which they pulled out of the hanger to make space for the speaches and other activities. I've seen this late model turret on several occasions while visiting the museum and she is quite a beaut!

Thanks again for the heads-up on the turret and another big thanks for letting my two boys climb up and check out your T-33. It was a real pleasure meeting you!

Paul,

It was great to finally meet you as well. You have yourself a beautiful bird.

Paul and I have written on the WIX site but had not met. Just before the airshow I saw him out at his plane. I hate people to interupt me when I am trying to concentrate just before flying so I try not to do it to others, but this time I took a chance and said hi. So I got to meet a dozen or so WIX members over the week, wish I could remember all the names, especially when most have an alias on the site.

Bill,

Quite alright and I'm glad you stopped by to say hi--I was just playing crew chief. Hope we can link up in the future and have more time to chat...looks like a Snowmass ski trip in March so I'll let you know when it's a done deal, otherwise maybe I'll see you at Gathering of Mustangs.

Bill,

It was nice to meet you at the WIX gathering. I was sitting next to you when we were eating. In the first picture posted on this thread, I am standing next to Paul in the blue Corsair shirt.
