Well, it ain't the Flug-Werk 190, but ...

Hi gang,

I had a few minutes to kill, so I snapped a quick one of the progress on Deelen Wolves. Should have her wrapped up next week. This will be the last canvas I complete before my show (with three other aviation artists) this fall at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in Savannah. More details to follow on that.

There will be a stronger highlight on the cowling/checks (see the pencil study for comparison), but I have to wait a few days to avoid "oil soup", that is, I want the highlight to be strong, and unless I pile 1/2 inch of "highlight" on there, it's going to mix with the black. Grrr! So, patience!

Ignore the casts on the color images (yes, I know how to correct, but ah, it's only the final image that counts). I won't post the completed art until it's properly scanned for archival/publication reasons. THAT will be the best 'version' of the image.

Comments welcome, as always.

Wade

Thx, guys ... much appreciated!

Let me clarify that this will be the last completed painting that will be included in my show later this year ... not the last one I will complete before then! Probably made a few collectors nervous when I said that!

Now, only 9 behind ...
