Anybody know anything about the YA-7E supposedly being rebuilt to fly at Lancaster, TX???

The old "White Whale" wouldn't die, and was purchased by an ex-military pilot turned Texas business man, and is being rebuilt as a flying airplane (in civilian garb, that is). It is a grand old bird that promises to be around for many more years before it retires to museum life.

what are you gonna do with a project A-7? I wouldnt expect many bids... You need millions to restore it and millions for gas!

well a static or flying A-7E corsair would be good to see anywhere they are unsung warrior of the VA fleet i think..

Id love to see a A-7D fly in USAF 1972 vietnam war colours as a warbird... into a sandy thread also...

A serviceable set of jacks, a mule and a huffer that runs, will set you back more than the project price. Then you always have to have a second person there to even start the thing...

Here's more parts. I played a benefit at a place here in Wisconsin called the Bunker. The owner bought the A7 and it has nearly everything on it. He says it could almost be started up on the poles.

So, now what? Who's taking this project on?

LOL, it's still here. Haven't seen any new progress on it, but I seriously doubt it'll fly again even though the owner claims he wants to fly it. I think that you'll see the MiG-21 and MiG-23 fly well before the YA-7E.
