The WWII image is off my 44th FS webpage.
The actualy name of this P-40F was "PEE WEE" but no one will
listen to me. This a/c was #106 so I ASS-umed it was #106 "Bonecrusher".
"Bonecrusher" was a follow-up sqd airplane also #106. "PEE WEE"
was Sam Hitchcock's a/c and was crashed by
CB Head. I have the map Head carried during the crash and offered
to send it to Australia in time for the first flight but never got a reply.
I've sent Judy Pay and others involved a lot of images of the crash
and aftermath and personal account of both the crash and recovery.

many pardons, jack, but why won't they listen to you? Are they just obtuse or are they doubting your informations authenticity? Or are they just ignoring you? What's the story of your IDing it? Give us the stroy, man! We love you for mre than just your awesome photo's, you know? And as for that map, perhaps after the fire you should hang on to it until they finish it, and find some way of driving it's price up, then ebaying it :)
