Boy, that takes me back. That was the last aircraft that my Dad was AC of. Flew out of Chennault AFB and Forbes, late 50's early 60's.

Jato take off was always cool to watch. We lost a crew at Chennault one time. Our neighbor was the navigator and as such, up in the belly hatch. The AC was climbing the ladder to the cockpit when the JATOs lit. AC was thrown from the ladder and run over by the 47. Jim was nearly burned to death but was pulled from the wreckage alive. Co-pilot was killed in the cockpit.

I love this video! All my favorite cold war aircraft at one airshow!

The B-58 is AWESOME. It has to be the sexiest airplane ever built. That baby just cutts through the air like a warm knife threw butter. :prayer:

Cool to see the F-105 do its thing as well as the nape dropping F-100's! :prayer: :prayer: :prayer: :prayer:

Isn't that footage from the Jimmy Stewart movie where he's the pilot of a B-47? If so, the March Field museum in Riverside, CA. has the nose section used for the closeups in that movie.
