Urgent need for F-101 wheels parts

Sat Aug 25, 2007 2:01 pm

Pima Air Museum is trying to find main gear tires and complete wheel bearing sets for an F-101B. We've tried all the usual places and no luck so far, as well as contacts with about 30 other aircraft realted places. If anybody out there has anything we'd like to make a deal. Email smarchand@pimaair.org or pm me.

We need 31 x 11.5 - 16 for the mains and cones & rollers (bearings) snap rings etc for the main wheels. I have copies of the TO's and the part numbers for refernce.

Thanks very much

Scott

Does the TO show the MFG'er of the gov' supplied wheels and brake assemblies in the front of the manual? Got a one page copy from Scott in the fax the other day from the Dash Four manual, but the PN listed is the darn McDonkey-Dumbass reference p/n which is about as useful as a horn on a plow. Even with the MD number, I have no idea who the bearing manufactuer was and what their part number for the piece is... and this data was fed this afternoon directly to a Boeing employee and they can't find it in the archivces.

If I can get the manufacturer info on the bearings and then a true bearing p/n I can cross reference it against a master bearing info sheet. It's a hog of a bearing... not a little tapered cone bearing but 30" or so in diameter plus a rather exotic snap ring assembly...

It was made by Bendix, I have an alternate PN is B3192-3 Rob, as well as an NSN number too but that is at work and I haven't had it burned into my brain yet....

Sounds just like bearing setup on the F-4. If so they're going to be hard to find.

You might try posting a query on a certain European aviation forum.

There were/are several ex-ABDR trainers over there that might have what you need.
