Dude,

I'll buy a ticket. Where & how? 8)

Further Information

I am curious:

How much time was on the engine?

Who rebuilt it last go around?

What power settings were they using on it?

Dude, like read the article, Pilots Choice Aviation in Georgetown, TX.

Whats the difference between this situation and any other non profit organization's airplane? The Big Thicket Wing needs money to get the BT-13 back in the air. Mississippi Wing needs money to get its Stinson up and running. There is a similiar story with every CAF unit. Lone Star needs money to get the 4Y going. The lack of funds is stiffling any vintage aircraft movement.

If it's a USMC bomber, why isn't it a PBJ? Also, why pull the whole engine for one busted piston? Was the engine full of metal afterwards?

The reason is that it is only painted to resemble a PBJ. That article correclty states the aircraft as a B-25. There is only one PBJ left and that is the CAF SoCal aircraft.

We all need help. For us fifty grand would be just a drop in the bucket. That wouldn’t even cover the cost for new fuel tanks. If folks really want to see her fly again send them a check. Join the CAF. Join the wing. Become an Aircraft Sponsor. Make it your favorite charity. I have said it many times before. You have to pay to play.

The Devil Dog folks have always been gracious to me, so...
Thanks for the post Ryan.
My warm fuzzies for them aside, they are technically no different than any of the other museums and CAF Squadrons.
We should support them ALL within our abilities.
Even though I am a pilot-sponsor on an N3N-3, about to mail my sponsorship in on the GCW B-17 (I promise!!! :) , part owner of a jet warbird and general supporter of all kinds of organisations...
I will still see if I can shake loose a few bucks to send to them so they can get back up. I salute you Group Capt. Dennison :drink3:

Devil Dog will be missed at Wings Over Houston!

No Dawg at Houston ! Just won't be the same airshow without it. Beth and her group has kept the old bird better than those who came before her. Sorry to see them have problems.
