Good bye Ed!

Another hero gone West. Ed Smit, F-51 pilot from the Korean war passed yesterday. He was a memebr of MAPS Air museum and a friend.

Ed lead a great life, and has the distinction of being one of the few F-51 pilots to have mixed it up in a dogfight against a MiG jet. Unfortunately, Ed also became a caterpillar club member after coming out on the short end of the encounter.

Ed love the Mustang, and was at the Gathering literally days before his death to say goodbye to the plane her loved.

Ed's F-51 was "No Quarter".

God Speed!
