Chuck,

I take it that was Sunday. At that time I was on I-71 just entering downtown Columbus on my way back to CMH. From there I could see the black mushroom cloud billowing to the south which indicated LCK. It was huge!

does anyone know how much it costs to make a "wall of fire"? Thats gotta be a lot of $$$ worth of explosives. Don't you know those EOD guys have fun!

That wall of fire set off a number of grass fires. The smoke just kept drifting into the crowd. The airfield fire department came out in force to give us a demonstration.

I could be wrong but normally those fire balls are mostly fuel. Ususally a string of garbage bags full of fuel set off by primer caps or cord. Not cheap by any means but cheaper than true pyro stock.

My dad used to work with airshows and still holds his pyro and fireworks licenses. Have seen some really cool stuff. My favorite is black powder topped by non dairy creamer. Seriously. Makes a huge mushroom. He is mainly in the small fireworks show business now. Not a bad way to retire form being an A&P.
