Mig3 Fuselage Ribs

Wed Oct 10, 2007 10:57 am

Hello this is my first post.
Does any one know where I can get the rib/bulkhead patterns for the MiG-3's fuselage? I've tried Nasm, the Smithsonian and the People who restored the Mig in Russia, nobody could help. Any MiG blueprints would be useful for
my non-flying replica.

Thanks,
Ed

...or would help, I guess you can't blame them for protecting their work. Welcome Ed.
I reckon you've seen the pages of Aviarestoration's photo's? On page 2 the
patterns are tantalizingly hanging on the wall in the background of the 1st couple of pics..

I guess you'll have to reverse engineer from a good 3-view and cross section
to recreate the ribs..like a big Guillow model. Good luck, and have fun.

Why don't you try contacting Jerry Yagen at the Fighter Factory. It is his MiG-3 that was restored. Perhaps he can help source the information for you.

Cheers,
Richard

Hmmm, good point Richard...it may not be AR's info to share depending on
the business agreement they share with Mr. Yagen.

Does Jerry have an email that I could contact about this? All of the contacts on the Fighter Factory website don't seem appropriate for this kind of inquiry.
